Honkers Sign Kemp from #2 Vanderbilt

The Rochester Honkers Baseball Club announced today the signing of freshman outfielder Tony Kemp from #2 ranked Vanderbilt University.

Kemp, a 5’6”, 160-pound left-handed hitting outfielder, is the leadoff man for the 22-3 Commodores.  He is currently hitting .326 with three triples, 14 walks and 11 RBI.  Kemp is also 5-8 in stolen bases.

Kemp graduated from Centennial High School in Franklin, TN where he earned four letters in both baseball and football. He was an All-District selection three years, and named All-Tournament, First team All-Midstate, All Williamson County, and team captain his junior and senior years.  Kemp was also a four-year member of the honor roll and received the Merit Award for most outstanding senior.  Kemp’s brother Corey played professionally in the Milwaukee Brewers organization.
