The Waterloo Bucks have announced the signing of right-handed pitcher Jordan Goldschmidt to their roster for the 2011 season. Goldschmidt, originally from Ft. Loramie, Ohio, is a junior at Butler University.

Goldschmidt, who previously attended Eastern Michigan University, missed the 2010 season due to surgery.  In 2009, he had 19 appearances, including nine starts, for the Eagles, ending up with a 2-5 record. Goldschmidt had 34 strikeouts in 56 innings and an ERA of 8.04.  Due to transfer rules, Goldschmidt will be sitting out the 2011 season for the Bulldogs.

"I’m really excited to be joining the Bucks this summer. I’ve heard nothing but great things from former player Jared Wagoner," said Goldschmidt. "The atmosphere and competitive level of the Northwoods League is something I’ll be looking forward to all year."

Born February 15, 1989, Goldschmidt is a graduate of Ft. Loramie High School. The 6’5", 215-pound player was a three-time All-Dayton Area and All-Conference selection. In high school as a position player, the right-handed batter hit .465 with three home runs, 14 doubles, and 31 RBI.  On the mound, Goldschmidt posed an 8-2 record with a 1.19 ERA. Goldschmidt pitched in the state championship game his senior year.
