The Rochester Honkers Baseball Club has signed right-handed pitcher, Corey MacDonald, from Cosumnes River College for the 2011 season.

The Davis, California native is signed to attend the University of Hawaii next season. MacDonald is currently in his second season at Cosumnes River College, where he holds ERA of 1.26, the third lowest in the league.  MacDonald has allowed 19 runs on the season; just six of them earned, and has struck out 33 batters, while only walking 11 in 43.0 innings of work.  MacDonald is around the top of the Conference in many pitching stats, including earned runs (third with 6) and home runs allowed (tied for first with 0).  Opponents are only hitting .234 against him.

MacDonald will be the eighth pitcher to sign with the Honkers for the 2011 season, a pitching unit that now has five right-handers and three left-handers.

The Rochester Honkers 18th season begins on June 1st when they travel to Mankato, MN for a 7:05pm start.
