The Rochester Honkers Baseball Club will bring back former pitcher from 2008, Peter Burg to skipper this year’s pitching staff. Burg pitched for the Honkers in the summer of 2008. He is a native of St. Cloud, Minnesota, graduating from Cathedral High School in 2006.

Burg has spent the past two seasons as the pitching coach at his alma mater the College of St. Scholastica. In his two seasons as a coach at St. Scholastica the Saints have won the UMAC tournament and advanced to the DIII National Tournament in consecutive years. He spent last summer coaching in the New York City Baseball League, for the Geneva Red Wings.

Burg held a 5-3 record in 12 appearances in 2008 with the Honkers, as well as a 2.09 ERA. He was selected as both a mid-season and a post-season All-Star teams, and given the Inspirational Player of the Year Award.
