Eau Claire 6, Wisconsin 4

The EauClaire Express used a hot start Thursday night as they scored five runs in the 1st two innings.  The five runs were enough to beat the Woodchucks 6-4 at Carson Park in Eau Claire.  Ty Forney (New Mexico State) was 2-for-3 with two RBI and Garrett Custons (Air Force) and Ryan Shober (Illinois-Chicago) both registered two hits in the win.  Matt McDaniel (San Diego State) picked up the win after allowing six hits in 6.0 innings.  Closer Mahlon Zimmermann (Mankato State) earned the save throwing the 9th inning. 

Green Bay 4, La Crosse 2

The Bullfrogs four run 2nd inning was all they needed to take down the La Crosse Loggers at Joannes Stadium. Green Bay only had six hits on the night, but used three extra base hits to their advantage.  Robert Williams (Macalester) was 1-for-3 with one run scored and two RBI for the Bullfrogs.  Andy Hunter (Gonzaga) earned the win in relief after 3.0 innings of one-hit baseball.  Trentt Copeland was 3-for-4 in the loss for the Loggers. 

Duluth 6, St. Cloud 5

The Huskies came from behind in dramatic fashion at Wade Stadium Thursday night.  Duluth used two runs in the bottom of the 9th inning to come from behind and beat the River Bats 6-5.  Tyler Palmer was 2-for-4 with one run scored in the win.  The River Bats center fielder, Korey Wacker (Maryland), was 2-for-5 with two runs scored in the loss.  The Huskies Joey Novak (Harvard) earned the win after throwing a scoreless 9th inning. 

Brainerd 10, Alexandria 7

The Lunkers and Beetles pounded out 22 hits and 17 runs on Thursday night at Knute Nelson Memorial Park.  The Lunkers used a multi-homer game from Wade Wass (Meridan CC) who was 3-for-5 with two runs scored and three RBI.  Dan Olinger (Minnesota) and Steven Brault (Regis) each homered in the win with Brault driving in three runs.  The Beetles Jeremy Boyd (Southern Polytechnic) was 3-for-5 in the loss. 

Madison 3, Wisconsin Rapids 2

The Madison Mallards used a solid pitching performance from Chris Burgess (Blackhawk College) and another great day at the plate from Mike McQuillan (Iowa).  Burgess only allowed five hits through 7.0 innings to register the win. McQuillan stayed hot at the plate with a 3-for-4 performance with one run scored.  The Rafters Kyle Peterson (Eastern Michigan) hit his 2nd homer of the season in the loss. 

Battle Creek 4, Waterloo 3

The Bombers scored in four consecutive innings to beat the Bucks 4-3 at C.O. Brown Stadium.  Battle Creek had nine hits on the night with Jimmy Martinez, Bryce Redeker, Daniel Rockett all registering multi-hit games.  The Bombers Matt Dearden earned the win while Kristian Calibuso threw the final two innings to register the save.  The Bucks Drew Walsh (Long Island) was 2-for-4 with two runs scored in the loss. 

Mankato 13, Rochester 7

The MoonDogs used a nine run 5th inning to beat the Rochester Honkers on Thursday night.  All MoonDogs hitters scored in the game and were again led by Zach Borenstein (Eastern Illinois) who hit his 2nd home run of the season and drove in five runs.  Matt Reida (Kentucky) scored two runs and had three RBI for the MoonDogs.  The Honkers Jordan Jakubov (Kansas) and Jimmie Koch (Florida Tech) each homered in the loss. 

Thunder Bay 6, Willmar 3

Thunder Bay jumped out to a 4-1 lead after one inning and never looked back.  The Border Cats knocked out ten hits and only allowed three hits by the Stingers to obtain the win.  The Stingers Jason Leblebijian (Bradley) had a nice game in the loss as he had two hits and three RBI.
