Willmar 4, St. Cloud 3

John Haberman (Pacific) was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate Thursday night and drove in two runs to help the Stingers beat the St. Cloud River Bats at home.  Scott Lieser (St. Cloud State) threw a solid game for the Stingers as he allowed five hits in 6.0 innings of work to earn the win.  Jason Leblebijian (Bradley) also provided a spark to the Stingers offense as he finished the game 2-for-3 with two runs scored. 

Brainerd 6, Thunder Bay 4

Brainerd beat the Thunder Bay Border Cats on the road by a score of 6-4. The Lunkers used multi-hit games from Tyler Wampler (Indiana State) and Steven Brault (Regis) to pace the offense. The Lunkers pitching staff only allowed six hits while striking out seven Border Cats.  Aaron Conyers (Sacramento City) earned the win while Casey Roche (Pittsburgh) registered his 1st save of the 2011 season. 

Mankato 7, Alexandria 1

Mankato’s Shaun Cooper (Utah) was a perfect 4-for-4 in the win Thursday night against the Beetles.  Cooper also scored two runs and drove in two more to set the tone for the MoonDogs offense.  Mankato’s Abel Guerrero (Galveston CC) was dominant on the mound as he threw a two hitter in 7.0 innings of work to earn his 2nd win of the season.

Battle Creek 6, Wisconsin 4

The Bombers took down the Woodchucks by a score of 6-4 in front of 700 plus fans.  Dan Dispensa (Western Illinois) had a great night at the plate for Battle Creek.  The 5’11’’ right fielder was 3-for-5 with two runs scored and three RBIs.  Austin Coleman (CS-San Marcos), Shain Stone r(Point Loma Nazarene), and Carlos Escobar (Nevada-Reno) all had multi-hit games in the loss for Wisconsin. 

La Crosse 7, Wisconsin Rapids 1

The La Crosse Loggers improved to 4-5 Thursday night as they beat the Wisconsin Rapids 7-1 at Witter Field.  The Loggers used multi-hit games from Thomas McCarthy (Kentucky), Cameron Flynn (Kentucky) and Bobby Juan (Minnesota).  La Crosse’s pitching staff also struck out twelve Rafters and only allowed four hits on the night.  Curtis Frisbie (Nevada-Reno) had two hits in the loss for Wisconsin Rapids. 

Waterloo 4, Madison 2

The Waterloo Bucks used a two run 8th inning to take down the Madison Mallards 4-2.  The Bucks scored in the 8th inning on a Drew Walsh (Long Island) solo home run and a wild pitch that scored James Foster (Wofford).  Shane Broyles (Seminole State CC) earned the win as he pitched 3.0 innings in relief to shutdown the Mallards offense. 

Green Bay 7, Eau Claire 2

Green Bay improved to 6-3 on the season as they beat the Eau Claire Express by a score of 7-2.  The Bullfrogs knocked out ten hits on the road and used solid pitching from their bullpen.  Starting pitcher Josh Martin (Samford) threw 6.0 innings to earn the win.  Relievers Cory Kyle (Arkansas State) and John Colella (Holy Cross) combined to throw the final 3.0 innings of hitless baseball.
