Brainerd 6, Rochester 2

The Lunkers used a great pitching performance from Kye Winter (Augustana) Sunday afternoon to take down the Honkers.  Winter only allowed three hits in 7.0 innings of work as he picked up his 2nd win of the 2011 season.  The Lunkers Steven Brault (Regis) and Wade Wass (Meridian CC) each had three hits on the night.  The Honkers Ryan Hambright (Oregon) was a perfect 2-for-2 in the loss with a home run, two runs scored and two free passes.  

La Crosse 11, Eau Claire 2

The Loggers were led by La Crosse Central graduate Bobby Juan (Minnesota) Sunday at the plate and on the mound.  Juan hit his 3rd home run of the 2011 season, drove in four runs and threw the final 2.0 innings while only allowing one hit.  Five Loggers collected multi-hit games.  Michael Schum (Wright State) picked up the win in relief for La Crosse as he threw 5.0 innings and only allowed three hits and struck out six Express batters.  Eau Claire’s Zac Fisher (New Mexico State) had a nice day at the plate as he finished with three hits and a run scored.  

St. Cloud 6, Alexandria 4

The River Bats took down the Beetles 6-4 Sunday afternoon at Knute Nelson Memorial Park.  St. Cloud’s Mitchell Garver (New Mexico) only had one hit on the night, but drove in four runs in the River Bats victory.  Garver blasted a three run homer in the top of the 1st to give the River Bats a quick 3-0 lead.  The Beetles came back with a single run in the bottom of the 1st and three runs in the 3rd to take the lead 4-3 after three innings of play.  However, the River Bats bounced back with two runs in the 8th inning thanks to a C.J. Gillman (Dayton) two-run double.  Michael Fagan (Princeton) picked up the win in relief and Travis Unthank (Central Missouri) registered his 3rd save of the 2011 season.
