Mankato’s Shaun Cooper (Utah) is now all alone atop the Northwoods League single-season home run leaderboard. The 5-foot 10-inch 195-pound right-handed slugger launched his 20th home run of the season leading off the third inning at St. Cloud Thursday. Mankato lost the game 7-3, but the Tuscson, Arizona native will have his name etched above Jason Washam’s name in the record book. Washam set the old record playing for Rochester in the Northwoods League’s inaugural season in 1994.
