(Rochester, MN)– The Rochester Honkers Baseball Club announced that left-handed pitcher Matt Strahm, from Neosho County Community College (KS) will return to the Rochester Honkers next summer.

Strahm, a 6’3”, 170-pound sophomore from West Fargo, ND was with the Honkers for the month of June last summer. He finished his Honker stint, 1-1 with a 2.92 ERA. The crafty lefthander made 4 starts, pitching 24.2 innings, allowing only 8 earned runs and striking out 22. Strahm was signed as a temporary player due to the amount of innings he had his freshman season at Neosho.

Strahm finished his freshman season at Neosho 9-3 with a 2.82 ERA, and a team-high 9 complete games. He struck out 77 in 67.0 innings of work and held opponents to a .248 batting average.

Strahm has been heavily recruited by Oklahoma State, Auburn, Oregon, Texas Tech, Mississippi State and Arkansas before eventually deciding to sign with Nebraska for 2013 season.
