Waterloo, IA – The Waterloo Bucks have announced outfielder Davis Hendrickson will return to play for Waterloo in 2012. Hendrickson, a junior at the University of Illinois, is the 11th player to be named to the Bucks’ roster for the team’s 18th season.
 
Last season, the Macomb, Illinois native finished tied for the South Division lead in triples with four, only one off the NWL leader. Hendrickson, who finished the year with a .319 average, had a hand in the most double plays as a fielder of any NWL outfielder with three. The 6’0", 190-pounder was named a mid-season NWL All-Star, ending the season with a .431 slugging percentage, a .401 on-base percentage, and 18 RBI. Hendrickson was ranked as the 61st best pro prospect in the NWL by Perfect Game in September.

Last year for Illinois, Hendrickson hit .311, starting in all 55 games he played. The left-handed hitter finished the season with nine stolen bases, 27 RBI, and a .399 slugging percentage for the Fighting Illini. Hendrickson had a team-best .392 average with runners on base and hit a team-high .417 at the NCAA Fullerton Regional, earning a spot on the All-Regional Team.
 
Born August 19, 1990, Hendrickson attended Macomb High School where he was named to the 2009 Class 1A/2A All-State team by the Illinois High School Baseball Coaches’ Association. Davis is the son of Mark and Ericka Hendrickson.
