(Wausau, WI) – The Wisconsin Woodchucks recently welcomed another player to their 2012 roster. The ‘Chucks announced the addition of Chevas Numata, a 1st/3rd baseman from the College of Southern Nevada.  Numata, a freshman, is already enjoying early success for the Coyotes.  Through his first 15 games, Numata was batting .320 with 1 home run and 16 RBI. 

Originally from Pearl City, HI, Numata enjoyed a successful high school career at the plate.  His senior year he hit .404 with 4 home runs.  In 2010 he was named the American Legion Hawaii State Championship MVP.  He was also named to the 5th Annual Power Showcase, where the nations top power hitters get to test their skills in major league stadiums.
