Waterloo, IA – The Waterloo Bucks, a member of the Northwoods League, have announced the signing of outfielder Andrew Host to their roster for the 2012 season. Host, a junior at the University of Iowa, is the 17th player to be named to Waterloo’s roster for the team’s 18th season.

Last summer, Host played for the Quincy Gems of the Prospect League. The Altoona, Iowa native was named to the West All-Star Team after hitting .292 with two home runs, 18 RBI, and eight stolen bases. Host helped Quincy win the Prospect League championship.

Host played in 32 games for Iowa in 2011, finishing with a .167 average in 60 at bats. The right-handed hitter started 18 games, all in right field, and hit .357 when leading off an inning.

Born June 28, 1990, Host attended Southeast Polk High School in Pleasant Hill, Iowa where he was a two-time first team All-Conference selection. Host hit .450 with 40 RBI and 11 stolen bases as a senior and participated in the Iowa High School All-Star Series. Andrew is the son of Chuck and Pam Host.
