Waterloo, IA – The Waterloo Bucks, a member of the Northwoods League, have announced the signing of left-handed pitcher Micah Bryan to their roster for the 2012 season. Bryan, a sophomore at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, is the 19th player to sign for field manager Travis Kiewiet’s squad.
 
Last season, the 6’3", 215-pounder appeared in 13 games, starting three, and finished with a 3.97 ERA and a 1-0 record for Charlotte. Bryan was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week on March 1, 2011 and did not allow an earned run in eight of his 13 appearances.

Last summer, Bryan pitched for the Statesville Owls of the Southern Collegiate Baseball League, appearing in seven games with six starts. Bryan finished the summer with a 3-2 record, a 3.47 ERA, and 22 strikeouts in 23.1 innings pitched.

This year for the 49ers, Bryan has seen action in four games and has struck out five batters in six innings pitched. The North Wilkesboro, North Carolina native owns a 0-0 record with a 10.50 ERA for the young season.

Born March 26, 1992, Bryan attended East Wilkes High School in Ronda, North Carolina, where he led the state with 149 strikeouts and was named the Wilkes County Pitcher of the Year as a senior. The southpaw was a three-time All-Conference performer in football, basketball, and baseball. Micah is the son of Mikki and Randy Bryan.
