Waterloo, IA – The Waterloo Bucks, a member of the Northwoods League, have announced the signing of left-handed pitcher Justin Grijalva to their roster for the 2012 season. Grijalva (pronounced gree-YALL-va), a junior at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California, is the 26th player to be named to Waterloo’s roster for the team’s 18th season. 
 
The 5’10", 185-pounder transferred to LMU from Citrus College where he finished the 2011 season with a 5.71 ERA and a 2-8 record in 14 appearances. Grijalva struck out 61 in 58.1 innings pitched and held opponents to a .256 average. This season, the southpaw has appeared in one game for the Lions.
Last summer, Grijalva pitched for the Southern California A’s in the So Cal Collegiate Baseball League. Perfect Game ranked the Irwindale, California native as the 14th best prospect in the SCCBL.
Born October 8, 1991, Grijalva attended Bishop Amat Memorial High School where he was a two-year varsity letter winner and participated on the 2008 California Interscholastic Federation championship team. Justin is the son of Dan and Diana Grijalva. In other news, the Bucks have waived both Jimmy Risi and Clay Stephens due to season-ending injuries.
