ROCHESTER, Minn. (July 1, 2012) – The Mallards stayed hot and the Honkers continue to struggle after Sunday’s action. The Duluth Huskies continued the recent walk-off trend in the Northwoods League on the bat of Trey Vavra (Madison College). 

Rochester 4, Thunder Bay 7

Scott Donley (Indiana) led the Border Cats as he went 3-for-5 at the plate with three RBI and one run scored. Thunder Bay will host Rochester again on Monday at 7:05 p.m. ET.  

Mankato 9, St. Cloud 3

Trey Nielsen (Utah) drove in three runs and scored twice while going 2-for-5 at the plate for the MoonDogs. He also picked up his third home run of the season. Mankato will host the Waterloo Bucks on Monday at 7:05 p.m. and the Rox will host the Duluth Huskies at 6:05 p.m.

Waterloo 5, Duluth 6

The Huskies got the victory on the bat of Trey Vavra (Madison College). Two of his three RBI came in the bottom of the ninth when he doubled home two, with Duluth down by one, to win the game. 

Eau Claire 4, Madison 8

The Mallards stayed hot thanks to the bat of Jack Livingston (Northwestern) who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run scored. The Mallards and Express have Monday off. 

Wisconsin 6, Lakeshore 4

The Woodchucks were led by J.D. Davis (Cal State Fullerton) who improved to 2-0 with his effort on the mound. He allowed no earned runs in seven innings pitched and struck out seven. Lakeshore will host the Woodchucks again on Monday at 6:35 p.m. 

Wisconsin Rapids 10, Battle Creek 8 (11 innings)

The Rafters were led by the bat of Alex Bacon (North Florida) who was 3-for-6 at the plate with two RBI and one run scored. The Bombers host the Rafters again on Monday at 7:05 p.m. ET. 

Alexandria 4, Willmar 6

Dillon Haupt (San Diego) led the Stingers by going 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored in the victory. This series shifts to Alexandria on Monday for a 7:05 p.m. first pitch. 

Green Bay 3, La Crosse 6

The Loggers were led by Joe Meggs (Washington) who was 2-for-4 at the plate with an RBI and two runs scored. The Loggers will host Green Bay again on Monday at 7:05 p.m.
