ROCHESTER, Minn. (July 17, 2012) – The Duluth Huskies would earn a sweep in Canada to take the half-game lead in the North Division, while the Mallards were led by the Northwoods League Pitcher and Player of the Night in their pounding of the Green Bay Bullfrogs to stay with the unstoppable Woodchucks. 

Rochester 3, Mankato 2

Justin Parr (Illinois) hit a two-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give the Honkers the late lead and they would hold on to win a close one, 3-2. This series continues on Wednesday in Rochester at 7:05 p.m.

St. Cloud 4, Waterloo 2

Chris Paul (California) went 2-for-4 at the plate with two RBI for the Bucks. Waterloo will host the Rox again on Wednesday at 6:35 p.m.

Duluth 1, Thunder Bay 0 (Game 1, 7 innings)

Joey Webb (Menlo College) threw a complete-game shutout for the Huskies, throwing seven innings and allowing just three hits and striking out five batters. 

Duluth 3, Thunder Bay 1 (Game 2, 7 innings)

Evan Geist (Florida State) earned his fourth victory of the season as he threw 4.1 innings and allowed just one run while striking out four batters. This series switches to Duluth for a 7:05 p.m. first pitch on Wednesday.

Alexandria 2, Willmar 7

Michael Suchy (Florida Gulf Coast) was 3-for-5 at the plate with three RBI and a run scored for the Stingers as they held off the red-hot Alexandria Beetels. Alexandria will host the Stingers on Wednesday for a 7:05 p.m. start. 

Wisconsin 5, Wisconsin Rapids 2

Eric Filia-Snyder (UCLA) was 3-for-5 at the plate with two RBI and two runs scored. He also picked up his third home run of the season. The Woodchucks will host the Madison Mallards on Wednesday at 6:35 p.m. while the Rafters will travel to Green Bay to take on the Bullfrogs at 7:05 p.m.

Green Bay 4, Madison 16

The Mallards were led by Bobby Poyner (Florida) who threw seven shutout innings and allowed just one hit while striking out five. Jack Livingston (Northwestern) also had a big day as he went 3-for-4 at the plate with six RBI and two home runs. 

Lakeshore 2, La Crosse 8

Richard Prigatano (Long Beach State) extended the La Crosse lead in the seventh inning with a three run home run, his fourth of the year. The Chinooks will host the Battle Creek Bombers on Wednesday at 6:35 p.m. and the Loggers will travel to face the Express at 6:35 p.m. in Eau Claire.

Daniel Rockett (Texas-San Antonio) hit a three-run home run in the top of the 12th inning to give the Bombers the lead and earn him five RBI on the night.
