ROCHESTER, Minn. (July 20, 2012) – The Woodchucks got back on the winning track while the Duluth Huskies extended their winning streak to five games and took a game and a half lead in the North Division on Saturday.  

Mankato 5, Duluth 13

The Huskies were led by Wade Wass (Meridian CC) who went a perfect 5-for-5 at the dish with seven RBI and two home runs. The Huskies host the MoonDogs again on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. 

Waterloo 8, Alexandria 7

Robert Chase (St. John’s) was 3-for-5 with four RBI and a run scored. He also picked up his third home run of the season. The Beetles will host the Bucks on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. 

Willmar 9, Thunder Bay 7

Dillon Haupt (San Diego) was 3-for-5 with four RBI and two runs scored for the Stingers who put up three runs in the ninth to break a 6-6 tie. The Border Cats will host the Stingers on Saturday at 6:05 p.m. ET on Saturday. 

St. Cloud 3, Rochester 4

The freshman Matt Kent (Texas A&M) earned his third win as he threw all nine innings for the Honker, allowing three runs and striking out four. The Rox will host the Honkers on Saturday for a 6:05 p.m. start. 

Madison 8, Battle Creek 3

Derek Fisher (Virginia) went 2-for-5 with three RBI as he blasted his third home run of the season. The Mallards will be hosted by Battle Creek again on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. ET. 

Wisconsin Rapids 1, La Crosse 9

Alex Gunn (Hinds CC) threw a complete game and struck out seven batters to earn his fifth win of the season. The Loggers will host the Rafters again on Saturday at 6:05 p.m. 

Eau Claire 3, Wisconsin 4

Eric Filia-Snyder (UCLA) went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored for the Woodchucks. Wisconsin will host the Express on Saturday for 6:35 p.m. start. 

Lakeshore 4, Green Bay 1

 

Nick Soldano (North Park) threw six innings and allowed just one run on four hits while striking out six batters. The Bullfrogs will host the Chinooks again on Saturday for a 7:05 p.m. start.
