ROCHESTER, Minn. (July 28, 2012) – The Duluth Huskies regained the lead the in tight North Division race and the Alexandria Beetles kept their pace in the North in exciting, walk-off fashion. 

In the South, the Woodchucks improved to an impressive 18-2 with their sixth straight win and hold a three game lead over the Madison Mallards.  

Mankato 0, Thunder Bay 6 

Sean Becker (Cal State U-East Bay) threw eight shutout innings and struck out eight on his way to earning his second win of the year and improving his ERA to 1.13 on the season. The Border Cats will host the MoonDogs again on Sunday for a 5:05 p.m. ET start. 

Duluth 7, Rochester 5

Dylan Vogt (Nebraska) earned his sixth save of the season, as the Huskies were able to hold off Rochester. The Honkers will host the Huskies again on Sunday for a 1:05 p.m. start. 

Waterloo 9, Alexandria 10

Robert Case (St. John’s) hit his second home run of the night in the bottom of the ninth to lead the Beetles to the walk-off win. The Beetles will host the Bucks again on Sunday for a 3:05 p.m. start. 

St. Cloud 4, Willmar 2

Phil Imholte (St. Cloud State) went 2-for-4 with two RBI to give him 32 on the season and help the Rox beat the first place Stingers. This series shifts to St. Cloud on Sunday for a 6:05 p.m. start. 

Battle Creek 13, La Crosse 8

Chris Sujka (Indiana) went 3-for-4 at the plate with three RBI and three runs scored. He also drew a walk and stole his third base of the season. The Bombers will be hosted by Wisconsin on Sunday for a 5:05 p.m. start and the Loggers will travel to Madison for a 5:05 p.m. meeting with the Mallards. 

Green Bay 7, Wisconsin 9

Brandon Hayden (Virginia Tech) went 2-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored. He also connected for his third home run of the season. The Bullfrogs will host the Express on Sunday for a 1:05 p.m. start. 

Lakeshore 10, Eau Claire 6

 

Ty Kamps (UWO) went 3-for-5 at the plate with three RBI and a run scored. The Chinooks will host the Rafters for a 5:05 p.m. start on Sunday. 

Wisconsin Rapids 2, Madison 5

Matt LaMothe (Georgia College and State) earned his fifth win of the season as he threw eight innings and allowed just two runs while striking out six.
