ROCHESTER, Minn. (August 7, 2012) – There was a shift in the North Division as the Stingers defeated the Beetles to extend their lead over Alexandria. 

However, the loss puts the Beetles in third behind the St. Cloud Rox who have won six straight and sit a game and a half back of Willmar for first place. 

Duluth 3, Mankato 2

Wade Wass (Meridian CC) hit a go-ahead two-run home run in the top of the ninth to help the Huskies earn the win. The Huskies will be travel to Thunder Bay on Wednesday for a 7:05 p.m. ET start with the Border Cats and the MoonDogs will host the Willmar Stingers at 7:05 p.m. 

Alexandria 3, Willmar 5

Michael Suchy (Florida Gulf Coast) went 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored for the Stingers with two home runs, which gives him eight on the season. The Beetles will host the Rochester Honkers on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. 

Waterloo 2, St. Cloud 3

Tadd Johansen (Wayne State) threw the complete game, allowing just one earned run on five hits and striking out seven. The Rox will host the Bucks again on Wednesday with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

Green Bay 2, Eau Claire 5

David Borchardt (Augustana) earned his first win of the season after throwing four innings of relief for the Express. The Express will host the Bullfrogs on Wednesday at 6:35 p.m. 

Wisconsin 2, La Crosse 17

Bobby Juan (Minnesota) went 2-for-4 at the plate with six RBI and three runs scored. He also connected for his ninth home run of the season. The Loggers will host the Woodchucks on Wednesday for a 7:05 p.m. start. 

Madison 7, Lakeshore 4

Bobby Poyner (Florida) threw six innings and allowed just one earned run on seven hits and struck out five. He’s now 4-0 with a 1.15 ERA on the season. The Chinooks will host the Mallards on Wednesday with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. 

Wisconsin Rapids 5, Battle Creek 9

Colin Willis (Purdue University North Central) was 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored for the Bombers. He also picked up his second triple of the year. Battle Creek and Wisconsin Rapids will meet again on Wednesday for a 7:05 p.m. ET start.
