(Duluth, MN) Duluth, MN.–The Duluth Huskies Baseball Club today announced the return of six players from the 2012 season.

Returning for their second season in the prestigious Northwoods League are Michael Suiter from Kansas University, Trey Vavra from Eastern Illinois University, Conor Szczerba and Nate Carter from Florida Southern College, Nathan Garza from Oral Roberts University, and AJ McElderry for Indiana State University.

Michael Suiter, an outfielder from Kansas, returns after an All Star summer in 2012.

Suiter was a mainstay in the lineup all summer. He hit .294 with 15 doubles, was tied for second on the team with 7 homeruns and had 40 RBI. Michael also had 14 stolen bases. The Huskies will look for Michael to hit in the middle of the order for the 2013 season.

Trey Vavra an infielder from Eastern Illinois is also returning after an All Star summer in 2012. Vavra is versatile as he saw time at third base, second base, and first base in 2012 an was another mainstay in the lineup. He hit .335 with 14 doubles, 2 homeruns and 29 RBI. The Huskies will once again look to Trey to play multiple positions and hit in the middle of the lineup in 2013.

Conor Szczerba an infielder from Florida Southern College is a versatile infielder returning for the 2013 season. Conor saw time at shortstop, second base, and third base and hit .249 with 8 doubles, 3 homeruns, 26 RBI and had 17 stolen bases.

Szczerba hit in the top of the lineup as well as the bottom and the Huskies look for him to hit in the top of the order during the 2013 campaign.

Nate Carter a right handed pitcher from Florida Southern College returns after a 2012 All Star summer as a closer. Carter was a mainstay in the back end of the bullpen for the Huskies. He had an ERA of 3.13 in 23 innings of work and had a 3 – 3 record with 4 saves. Nate will again be looked to in the back end of the bullpen for 2013.

Nathan Garza a right handed pitcher from Oral Roberts is returning after a successful summer as a relief pitcher. Garza was a late inning reliever for the Huskies all summer, he had an ERA of 3.04 in 23.2 innings of work and had a record of 2 – 0 with 2 saves. He will be looked to as a late inning setup guy in 2013.

AJ McElderry a left handed pitcher from Indiana State is returning after a successful summer as a relief pitcher. McElderry was also a late inning reliever for the Huskies all summer; he had an ERA of 3.71 in 46 innings and had 4 saves. AJ will be looked to be a late innings setup guy for the 2013 season.
