The Sheboygan County Chamber will be hosting Baseball Hall of Famer Robin Yount on March 7 for a special ballpark luncheon at Blue Harbor Resort & Conference Center. Yount, one of the most celebrated Brewers of all-time, will speak on his journey in baseball, his playing career and now his business involvement with the Lakeshore Chinooks, a collegiate summer baseball team in Mequon showcasing talent from around the country. Robin Yount will also be available for questions from the audience.
Yount spent his entire playing career in Milwaukee and featured three All- Star appearances, a Gold Glove, three Silver Slugger awards and was named twice the AL MVP award winner. Robin also coached briefly in the majors and now focuses his energy on some of his business ventures including marketing Robinade Old School Lemonade and Limeade of which a portion of the proceeds goes to Midwest Children’s Charities. Most recently Yount became a minority owner in the Lakeshore Chinooks baseball team, the newest member of the Northwoods League.
“This comes just in time for the baseball season,” said community relations director Bill Marklein. “Robin is personable, well-liked and has been highly successful both on and off the diamond.”
In addition to Yount on the program, Dean Rennicke, Vice President of Marketing for Kapco, Inc. and VP/GM of the Lakeshore Chinooks, will be speaking. Rennicke spent twenty-two years in professional baseball as a Minor League Player, Coach for the Los Angeles Dodgers and Front Office Executive for the Milwaukee Brewers. He will speak on the business of baseball.
The luncheon includes a local ballpark lunch featuring Johnsonville Brats. Limited seating.
