BATTLE CREEK, MI- The Battle Creek Bombers have announced their second new player signing of 2013 in freshman pitcher Mike Mancuso from the University of Georgia.

Mike Mancuso : 6’6" – 275lb, B/R-T/R, RHP, Georgia (Fr.), Brecksville, Ohio

Mancuso brings his Southeastern Conference experience to Battle Creek this summer. He was selected in the 46th round of the 2011 MLB draft by the Chicago White Sox but opted for Georgia where he redshirted the 2012 season.

Mancuso dominated the high school and summer league ranks where he attended Brecksville-Broadview Heights High. He racked up countless awards and accomplishments throughout his high school career including hurling three no-hitters. The righty is also the school’s all-time leader in career wins (17), strikeouts (174), innings pitched (136), batting average (.414), and RBIs (65).

In three seasons with the Midland Redskins summer league team in Cincinnati, Mancuso won three consecutive Connie Mack World Series summer league national championships from 2009-2011. He was also a three-time conference MVP, All-State, and All-American selection.

The Battle Creek Bombers are members of the Northwoods League that has more teams, plays more games, and draws more fans than any other summer collegiate baseball league in America.
