Waterloo, IA – The Waterloo Bucks, a member of the Northwoods League, have announced the signing of right-handed pitcher/designated hitter Gerrion Grim III to their roster for the 2013 season. Grim III, a freshman at the University of Missouri, joins fellow Tiger Brandon Platts on Waterloo’s roster for the team’s 19th season.

"We are excited to add Gerrion (pronounced JERRY-in) to our roster," said Bucks’ general manager Dan Corbin. "Gerrion is very athletic, will throw in the high-80’s to low-90’s, has a good slider, and the ball jumps out of his hand. He’s a cut athlete at 6’1" and 185 pounds, and we’re thrilled that we’ll be able to use his bat from time to time as well. We look forward to him joining our team in May."
The O’Fallon, Missouri native played baseball at Fort Zumwalt South High School where he finished his senior year with a 2.90 ERA and 94 strikeouts. That season at the plate, Grim III hit .423 with four home runs and 33 RBI. In 2012, Grim III was named the St. Charles Male Athlete of the Year and was a St. Charles Amateur Athletic Hall of Fame selection. Born September 17, 1993, Gerrion is the son of Gerrion Grim Jr. and Cassandra Grim.
The Bucks will open the 2013 season at home versus the St. Cloud Rox on May 29. Season tickets, group outings, and single-game tickets are currently on sale.
