(Wausau) – The 2013 Woodchucks roster is starting to take shape. Every Tuesday, the Woodchucks will be featuring players that have signed on to play in Wausau this upcoming summer.

The first player comes from Division I power, Cal State Fullerton. Sophomore Austin Diemer, an outfielder for the 13th ranked Titans, will join the "˜Chucks in the hopes of continuing the success former Fullerton players, including 2012 Woodchuck and current teammate J.D. Davis, have had with the Woodchucks. Austin has enjoyed a solid start to his 2013 season with the Titans, batting .393 and 4 RBI in 11 games played.

As a freshman, Austin appeared in 34 games for the Titans, serving mostly as a defensive replacement and a pinch runner. He compiled the second best batting average on the team, hitting .370, including a team best .571 in conference games. Following his freshman season, Austin went on to play summer ball for the Cowlitz Black Bears of the West Coast League. In 41 games he batted .279 with 25 runs scored, 8 doubles, 2 triples, 1 home run, 10 RBI and 11 stolen bases.
Austin was a 3-year letter winner at Rocklin High School in California and was inducted into the Rocklin Athletic Hall of Fame after graduation. His senior year he his .415 with 20 RBI, while setting the school record for triples (6) and stolen bases (26). That summer he was drafted in the 26th round by the Cleveland Indians in the MLB First-Year Players Draft.
