BATTLE CREEK, MI- The Battle Creek Bombers have announced the signings of Michigan State pitcher Zac Wilkerson and outfielder Cam Gibson.

Cam Gibson: 6’1" – 185lb, B/L-T/R, OF, Michigan State (Fr.), Grosse Pointe, Mich.

Wilkerson, a redshirt sophomore, suffered an arm injury that sidelined him during the 2012 season. In 2011 Wilkerson was an integral piece in helping the Spartans claim a share of the Big Ten Championship. Wilkerson made five relief appearances out of the Spartan bullpen compiling a 1-0 record and 2.38 ERA over 11.1 innings of work. He threw a scoreless inning against Yale in his collegiate debut.
Wilkerson was a three-year letter winner at Forest Hills Eastern High School. He also earned three letters playing quarterback for the football team and was a two-time captain. His father Tom played baseball at Grand Rapids Community College and Aquinas College. Wilkerson is a kinesiology major.
The son of former Detroit Tiger, two-time World Series Champion, and current Arizona Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson, Cam Gibson brings a wealth of baseball talent to the diamond. Gibson was selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 38th round (No. 1173 overall) of the 2012 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.
Gibson was a four-year letter winner at Grosse Pointe South High School and was a two-time first-team Division 1 MHSBCA all-state selection. As a junior he led Grosse Pointe South to a district title with a .414 batting average including 13 doubles, 7 homers and 40 RBI’s all while scoring 32 runs.
The Battle Creek Bombers are members of the Northwoods League that has more teams, plays more games, and draws more fans than any other summer collegiate baseball league in America.
