Rochester, Minn (June 7th, 2013)–The Friday night slate of games was led by an epic performance from the Willmar Stingers. After being down 6-0 through the first four innings against the first-place Duluth Huskies, the Stingers roared back and claimed victory on a walk-off three-run home run.

In other action, the Wisconsin Woodchucks kept rolling behind their high-powered offense. They used multiple two-RBI performances and scored eight runs to take down the Madison Mallards in Madison.

In Rochester, the Honkers got an excellent start from Logan Spitzack (St. Cloud State) who tossed seven scoreless innings and picked up a win.

Lakeshore 5, La Crosse 3

The Chinooks continued their winning streak on Friday with a 5-3 victory over La Crosse. Chris Manning (Valporaiso) collected three hits and scored twice out of the lead off spot. The Chinook bullpen was excellent, pitching 3.1 innings and allowing only one hit and one walk.

Waterloo 6, St. Cloud 3

Chesney Young (Mercer) went 2/3 with two walks and three runs scored as the Bucks were able to steal a win on the road. Starter TJ Renda (Alabama State) was impressive again as he held the Rox to two earned runs in seven innings while picking up the win.

Mankato 4, Alexandria 3

The MoonDogs found themselves down 3-2 heading into the eighth, but they scored a run in the eighth and a run in the ninth to pick up the win. Ryan Tuntland (West Virginia) had a monster night as he went 3/3 with two walks, two RBI, two runs, and a HR on the evening.

Eau Claire 11, Green Bay 7

The Express put crooked numbers on the board in three separate innings in Friday’s win over the ‘Frogs. Chane Lynch (Niagara) and Brian Sicher (Air Force) combined to go 3/9 with two HR and eight RBI.

Rochester 9, Thunder Bay 0

The Honkers got an outstanding start from St. Cloud native Logan Spitzack (St. Cloud State). The righty threw seven shutout innings while striking out four Border Cats. On offense, Alex Greer (Iowa Western) went 2/5 with four RBI thanks to an eighth-inning grand slam.

Wisconsin 8, Madison 5

The Woodchuck offense continues to fire on all cylinders. On Friday night, they had three separate players drive in a pair of RBI on the way to victory. Tyler Stieb (San Joaquin Delta) was among that trio and picked up his seventh double on the season. He now has a .423 batting average and six stolen bases through seven games on the season.

Willmar 9, Duluth 6

The Stingers completed an epic comeback to earn the win on Friday. After being down six runs through the first four innings of the game, the Stingers roared back to tie the game before Max Kuhn (Kentucky) launched a three-run shot in the night sky to walk off.

Battle Creek 11, Wisconsin Rapids 9

Patience guided the Bombers to the win on Friday as they were able to coax eleven walks in the victory. Cam Gibson (Michigan State) drew three of those walks and collected three RBI out of the lead off spot to propel the offense.
