Rochester, Minn (June 9th, 2013)–The story of Sunday night was extra baseball. Of the six games scheduled on the evening, half went into extras. Oddly enough, the road team emerged victorious in every game.

In Thunder Bay, the Waterloo Bucks were able to rebound after blowing a two-run lead in the ninth inning and won in the tenth. David Kerian (Illinois) drove in the decisive single.

In Rochester, the St. Cloud Rox rallied in the ninth to tie the game and then scored three times in the twelfth to seal the victory.

In Battle Creek, the Wisconsin Woodchucks tied the game in the ninth and scored six times in the 11th in a win.

St. Cloud 5, Rochester 2 (F/12)

The Rox scored twice in the ninth and three times in the twelfth to earn a win on Sunday night. Eric Nyquist (Mercer) was superb in the win as he threw six shutout innings while only allowing three hits.

Wisconsin 9, Battle Creek 5 (F/11)

The Woodchucks got down a run in the eighth, tied the game in the ninth, and then scored six times in the 11th as they downed the Bombers on Sunday. Matt Tellor (Southeast Missouri) was 3/5 with a run and two more RBI, which gives him 22 on the season.

Waterloo 6, Thunder Bay 4 (F/10)

Tyler Peyton (Iowa Central CC) was great in Sunday’s extra-inning victory. He threw six shutout innings and allowed only three hits. After surrendering the lead in the bottom of the ninth, the Bucks were able to recover in the tenth and find a win.

Madison 9, Eau Claire 1

The Mallards scored six runs in the first two innings and didn’t look back. Drew Weeks (North Florida) had a monster game as he hit a home run and drove in five RBI. Jordan Tabakman (Connecticut) was great on the hill for the Mallards as he threw five shutout innings and allowed only two hits.

La Crosse 3, Green Bay 2

For a minute, this game looked as if it would be the fourth game to go into extras, but the Loggers made sure that nine innings was enough. Loggers starter Jordan Watson (Seminole State CC) overcame a rough first inning and was able to limit the ‘Frogs to just two runs in five innings.

Wisconsin Rapids 8, Lakeshore 6

Jackson Slaid (Montavello) had a huge night as he drove in five runs while clubbing his fourth home run of the season. Teammate Donnie Dewees (North Florida) added three hits and scored three times.
