Rochester, Minn (June 12th, 2013)–Wednesday marked the start of the third week of league action, and the standings remain tight. Going into the evening, nine teams found themselves within a game and a half of a division lead.

In the North, the Waterloo Bucks kept rolling as they were able to take a home victory from the Rochester Honkers. In the South, The La Crosse Loggers scored three late runs to keep a lead on the Battle Creek Bombers.

In Green Bay, the Eau Claire Express erupted for 18 runs against the Bullfrogs.

Waterloo 5, Rochester 3

The Bucks scored three early runs and added a pair in the middle innings to maintain their lead in the North division. Kevin Needham (Long Island) knocked in a pair of runs in the victory.

Lakeshore 11, Wisconsin 4

The Chinooks won their third game in a row on Wednesday as they pounded Wisconsin. The Chinooks were able to put up multi-run innings on four separate occasions in what became a come-from-behind victory after the Woodchucks got up 4-2 early on.

Alexandria 4, Duluth 0

After both starters went six innings and failed to allow a run, this game became a battle of the bullpens. Fortunately for the Blue Anchors, their ‘pen was able to edge the Huskies as they allowed zero runs over three innings.

La Crosse 6, Battle Creek 3

In a battle for first place in the south, the Loggers emerged victorious. The Loggers got up 3-0 early, but surrendered the lead by the end of the sixth. Then in the 8th, the Loggers plated three runs and were able to shut the door in the 9th for the win.

Thunder Bay 5, St. Cloud 2

The Border Cats grabbed a 4-0 lead after five innings and didn’t look back. Chris Kerwood (Arkansas State) had a solid start on the mound as he allowed only two runs in 6.1 innings while scattering eight hits.

The Express erupted for 18 runs on 17 hits in a big win over the Bullfrogs. Incredibly, the Express did not hit a home run in the offensive outburst and all 18 runs came with RBI.
