Rochester, Minn (June 23rd, 2013)–The big story on Sunday was extra innings. As the weekend came to a close, three of Sunday’s seven games could not be decided in regulation time, which created a little extra excitement.

In Rochester, the Duluth Huskies and Rochester Honkers were tied at two going into the 12th. In the top of the inning, the Huskies scored eight times and grabbed the win. In Madison, the Mallards and Lakeshore Chinooks followed up their 16-inning fiesta with an 11-inning affair with the Chinooks grabbing the win.

In Waterloo, the news was a bit better for the home team. The Bucks rallied to score five times in the bottom of the ninth and force extras. Then, in the 10th inning, the Bucks were able to walk off and send fans home happy.

Duluth 10, Rochester 2 (F/12)

No runs crossed the plate between the bottom of the 5th and bottom of the 11th inning. This silence was ended when the Huskies broke out for eight runs in the top of the 12th to grab a road win. The Huskies drew nine walks and got 5.1 innings of scoreless work from their bullpen in the win.

Lakeshore 5, Madison 4 (F/11)

The Chinooks and Mallards traded runs in the 9th inning on Sunday and the game went into extras. In the top of the 11th, Brant Valach (Eastern Illinois) doubled home the winning run. Mitchell Sewald (LSU) pitched three scoreless innings out of the bullpen to help seal the win.
