Charlie White and Eric Nyquist added for the July 23rd game

Rochester, Minn. (July 16,2013) — The Northwoods League has announced that Charlie White from the Eau Claire Express will be added to the South roster and Eric Nyquist from the St. Cloud Rox will be added to the North roster for the 2013 Northwoods League All-Star Game, which will be played on Tuesday, July 23rd at 7:35 p.m.(CST) at Carson Park in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Both players have been added as injury replacements.

 

White is currently hitting .287 for the Express through 37 games. He also has 22 stolen bases and 10 RBI on the year. White is a Sophomore from Maryland and was drafted in the 29th round of this year’s MLB draft by the New York Yankees. He will be replacing Jonathan Moroney of the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters.

 

Nyquist is 2-3 with a 2.01 ERA in six games started this season for the Rox. He has 25 strikeouts in 35.2 innings pitched and has only walked 10 batters. Nyquist is a Junior from Mercer University. He will be replacing Abe Bobb of the Willmar Stingers.

 

Eau Claire’s second hosting of the Northwoods League’s All-Star festivities will kick off on Monday, July 22nd at the Plaza Hotel & Suites with a banquet recognizing top performers from the 16 teams. The banquet is sponsored by Visit Eau Claire and the Plaza Hotel & Suites and will be open to the public for the price of $50 per ticket. The event is set to begin at 6:00 p.m. with a full banquet meal, followed by the program portion of the evening featuring former Minnesota Twins Manager Tom Kelly.

 

Day two of the Northwoods League’s 19th all-star event will be held on Tuesday, July 23rd at historic Carson Park with a variety of activities. The day begins with a fan fest at 4:00 p.m. that gives fans the opportunity to interact with the all-stars and obtain autographs. The annual Home Run Derby will begin at 6:00 p.m. with the game to follow at 7:35 p.m. The two-day event will be capped off with a fireworks display following the completion of the game.
