EauClaire, Wis. – July 18, 2013- The Eau Claire Express front office today announced additional details for the upcoming Northwoods League All-Star event that will be held at Carson Park in Eau Claire. This will mark the second time Eau Claire has been the host city for the All-Star festivities after being selected to host the 2010 game. Festivities will include a banquet, fan fest, home run derby and game.

The two-day event will kick off on Monday, July 22 with a banquet to honor this year’s all-star players. The banquet will be held at The Plaza Hotel & Suites in Eau Claire and will feature two-time World Series Champion and former Minnesota Twins Manager Tom Kelly as the guest speaker. The event begins at 6:00 PM with dinner being served at 6:45.

Day two begins with the Adecco Fan Fest, to be held on the Fan Deck at Carson Park on Tuesday, July 23. This will be the opportunity for fans of all ages to come out and meet the all-stars, get autographs and enjoy entertainment by the Midwest Dueling Pianos. The Fan Fest begins at 4:00 PM and runs until 5:45 PM. Food and beverages will be sold on the Fan Deck during this time. A game ticket is required for admittance to this event but will grant you access to Carson Park for the remainder of the day’s activities.

The Marshfield Clinic Home Run Derby starts at 6:00 PM and will include eight participants, all being among the Northwoods League leaders in home runs. The derby will feature three rounds, with ten outs per round, to determine the champion. 

The All-Star Game starts at 7:35 PM following the Home Run Derby. The game includes All-Star performers from both the North and South divisions of the Northwoods League. The South team will be coached by Madison Mallards Field Manager Donnie Scott and his coaching staff. Waterloo Bucks Field Manager Travis Kiewit and his staff will lead the North squad. Eau Claire has two all-stars selected to this year’s team. Maryland outfielder Charlie White and Minnesota State-Mankato pitcher Tyler Sparger will both be making their first all-star appearance. A fireworks show will follow the game.
