Duluth, Minn (August 16th, 2013)–The Madison Mallards clinched their second Northwoods League championship on Friday with a win over the Duluth Huskies. They used offense to lift themselves over Duluth for the sweep.

Joe McCarthy (Virginia) was the key cog in Madison’s offense machine in the two game series. On Friday, McCarthy went 5/6 with four runs, four RBI, two doubles, and a home run out of the clean up spot.

The Mallards won their second Summer Collegiate World Series and first since 2004.
