La Crosse, Wis. – The La Crosse Loggers baseball club announced that a pair of pitchers from their 2013 squad will be returning for a second stint in 2014. Memphis hurlers Colin Lee and Craig Caufield have both committed to another summer in La Crosse and the Northwoods League.

Lee, a 6-2, 200 pound southpaw, was arguably the Loggers top starting pitcher during the first-half of the 2013 season when he posted a 2-1 record with a 2.41 ERA over seven starts and 41 innings pitched. The Germantown, Tenn. native also struck out 31 batters and walked just 11. Now a sophomore at the University of Memphis, Lee will once again be looked up on as a key piece of both the Tigers and Loggers pitching staffs next spring and summer.

Like his Memphis teammate, Craig Caufield was a dominant force for the Lumbermen throughout the entire first half of the 2013 season. Prior to his departure, Caufield accumulated a team-high six saves while posting a 1.20 ERA. The 6-3 right-hander also struck out 18 batters in 15 innings and limited opponents to a .148 batting average. The 2014 season will be the third summer of competition for Caufield, who also excelled in the Jayhawk League back in 2012 when he went 3-0 with a 1.74 ERA over nine appearances for the Dodge City A’s
