BATTLE CREEK, MI-The Battle Creek Bombers are thrilled to announce Dan Trivett as the franchise’s Field Manager for the 2014 season. Trivett boasts over forty years of baseball experience; playing, coaching, recruiting and scouting. Most recently, Dan served as an Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for the 2013 Lakeshore Chinooks, a fellow member of the prestigious Northwoods League. Coach Trivett was instrumental in building the 2013 Chinooks, who finished 44-26, good enough to capture the highly competitive Southern Division crown. The 2014 season will mark Trivett’s ninth season of affiliation with the Northwoods League, after previously serving six years with the Madison Mallards, and the past two seasons with the Lakeshore Chinooks.
With the announcement of the hiring, Coach Dan Trivett added, “My sincere thanks to Dick Radatz, Brian Colopy, and the entire front office staff for the honor and privilege to lead the Battle Creek Bombers in 2014. To serve the greater Battle Creek community as a team is something we are truly looking forward to. From a coaching stand point, we have an opportunity to instill in these players what professional baseball is all about, in order to prepare them for the next level. As the Field Manger of the Battle Creek Bombers our goal as a coaching staff will be to develop already very good baseball players into future stars. We will also strive to make good young men better in all facets of their lives. I believe the competitiveness of the league, the travel and number of games played are all factors in the success of developing future stars. The success rate of producing professional baseball stars in the Northwoods League is second to no other league out there”.
General Manager Anthony Iovieno called the hiring of Coach Trivett, “a huge win for our ballclub and a move that will help our franchise get back to where it needs to be – competing for championships”.
Coach Trivett is already looking forward to his move to Battle Creek, and is eager to immerse himself within the greater Battle Creek community. Trivett is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio and is the father of two boys, Zach and Tyler.
You can watch Coach Trivett and his Battle Creek Bombers take the field for the first time at C.O. Brown Stadium this May 29th at 7:05 PM versus the new rival Kalamazoo Growlers. Season Tickets, Mini-Plans, and Group Outings are available now by calling (269)-962-0735
