Kenosha Kingfish Sign Keenan Innis and Ryan Fitzgerald

Kenosha, WI — January 9, 2014. The Kenosha Kingfish have announced the signing of freshman outfielder Keenan Innis from Georgia Tech and sophomore infielder Ryan Fitzgerald from Creighton University for the summer of 2014.

Innis, a 5’11”, 171-pound native of Cumming, Georgia, will join the Kingfish after his first season with Georgia Tech. Innis was a four-year letter winner and Offensive Player of the Year his senior year at Blessed Trinity High School in Roswell, Georgia. He made appearances in two region championships and two state semifinals over his four-year career, and was named to the Preseason All-State teams in 2012 and 2013, while maintaining honor roll academic status throughout high school. Innis was named to the First Team Rawlings Preseason All Region Team for the Southeast and joins an incoming Georgia Tech freshman class that ranks ninth in the nation, according to Perfect Game USA. Innis intends to major in business administration at Georgia Tech.

Fitzgerald, a 5’11”, 170-pound infielder from Burr Ridge, Illinois, will be making the trip to Kenosha this summer after his second season with the Bluejays. In 2013, Fitzgerald posted a batting average of .290 with nine RBIs, three doubles, 18 hits, and 10 runs scored. Fitzgerald appeared in 27 games and made 18 starts in his freshman campaign at Creighton.

At Fenwick High School, Fitzgerald was a two-time letter winner in baseball, with a team record of 39-29 in his two seasons. He hit .456 as a senior, with seven doubles, seven triples, three home runs, and 42 total hits. His junior year, Fitzgerald posted a .389 batting average with 16 RBIs, 42 hits, and 31 runs scored. He was a two-time Chicago Catholic League All-Conference First Team selection, playing in four all-star games, and was named Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association All-Area/All-State Selection. Fitzgerald committed to Creighton following his sophomore year, at the age of 16.

The Kingfish will host their season opener against the Mankato MoonDogs on Saturday, May 31st at 6:05pm at Kenosha’s Historic Simmons Field. Single-game tickets will go on sale in April.
