Blue Anchors Roster Continues to Build

Alexandria-MN – The Alexandria Blue Anchors, a member of the Northwoods League, have announced the signing of Ryan Froom for the 2014 season.
Froom, a freshman at South Dakota State University is originally from Crystal, Minnesota and attended St. Louis Park High School. Prior to attending SDSU Froom played for the Minnesota Blizzard program and gained valuable experience there that can help carry him through his freshman year at school and his first season in the Northwoods League.

"Ryan Froom is going to be a big help in the bullpen for us." Anchor owner Adam Barta said.  "He's got an above-average breaking ball that he throws for strikes and he's got good down angle on his fastball.  He is pretty versatile so he'll be able to spot start, be a long relief guy and can be a situational righty late in the game.  I've watched Ryan pitched for a long time and his personality, work ethic and his ability to win are all the things the Anchors are looking for."

Ryan was born August 5th, 1995 and is the son of John and Nancy Froom. He is thrilled to get the opportunity to come to Alexandria this summer.

“I am looking forward to playing in such a beautiful ballpark with guys I have played with and new teammates I haven’t met yet.”  Froom said.  “I also am looking forward to playing in a highly competitive summer atmosphere such as the Northwoods League”

The Blue Anchors will start the 2014 season on Tuesday May 27th at home versus the Mankato MoonDogs.
