Bucks Sign Infielder for Upcoming Season
Waterloo, IA – The Waterloo Bucks have announced that infielder Nick Senzel has signed to play with Waterloo for the 2014 season.
Senzel, a freshman at the University of Tennessee, is the ninth player to be named to the Bucks’ roster for the team’s 20th season.
“I’m excited to play for the Waterloo Bucks in the Northwoods League this summer,” said Senzel. “It looks to be a team with great tradition and an excellent fan base. I can't wait to be a part of it all.”
The 6’1”, 205-pounder graduated from Farragut High School in Knoxville, Tennessee where he was ranked by Perfect Game as the number 11 prospect in the state and the number 17 second baseman in the nation. Senzel hit .386 with 42 RBI, 14 doubles, five home runs, and four triples as a senior.
“Nick really swings the bat well,” said Bucks general manager Dan Corbin. “He’s an athletic kid and he’s motivated. Nick will be a great addition to our team.”
Born June 25, 1995, Senzel is a native of Knoxville, Tennessee. Nick is the son of Jeff and Janice Senzel.
The Bucks will open the 2014 season on the road versus the Rochester Honkers on May 27, but return to Waterloo for their home opener versus Rochester on May 28.
