The Blue Anchors add another Minnesota Native

Alexandria-MN – The Alexandria Blue Anchors, a member of the Northwoods League, have announced the signing of 2B/SS Ryan Busch for the 2014 season.
Busch will come to the Blue Anchors from Georgetown University after finishing his junior season with Hoyas, he is excited to get back to Minnesota.

“The opportunity to come back to Minnesota and play with the guys and coaches who got me to where I am today is something really special.” said Busch. “Not many baseball players can say they had a chance to reconnect with old friends on the field for one final summer ball experience, I wouldn’t want it any other way.”

Ryan has baseball in his blood. His dad Kevin played at the University of Minnesota and his brother Matt plays at Bucknell University.

Co-owner Adam Barta has great things to say about him, "Busch was one of the top prospects and hitters in Minnesota in 2011 and earned All-Metro Player of the Year that included a class with high school draft picks David Ernst (47th Round, Cubs) and Robert Youngdahl (37th Round, Red Sox).  We're excited to have him and we see him being an impact player for the Anchors this year."

Busch is currently majoring in studio art with a concentration in painting at Georgetown.

The Blue Anchors will start the 2014 season on Tuesday May 27th at home versus the Mankato MoonDogs.
