Cline & Roy Bring Summer Experience with them to La Crosse

LA CROSSE, WIS. – The La Crosse Loggers bolstered their pitching staff today for the upcoming 2014 season when team officials announced the signings of right-handers Adam Cline and Kevin Roy from the University of Columbia.

Sophomore Adam Cline is ready to build on an impressive freshman season at Columbia when he went 3-3 with a 4.53 ERA over 12 appearances and seven starts. The Redmond, Wash. native also struck out 45 batters in 47.2 IP while only walking 15. Cline also enjoyed a very successful summer in the Far West Summer Collegiate League when he won 6 games over 63 innings pitched and posted a 2.57 ERA.

Teammate, and fellow sophomore, Kevin Roy was also a key cog in Columbia’s 2013 season which saw them advance to the NCAA Regionals. The Houston, Texas native garnered all-Ivy League honorable mention honors as a freshman when he went 3-1 with a 1.91 ERA while striking out 21 batters over 28.1 innings. Roy made 14 appearances for the Lions, including a pair starts. The right-hander also competed in the Texas Collegiate League last summer, going 1-2 with a 5.40 ERA while striking out 21 over 26.2 innings pitched.

The La Crosse Loggers are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League.
