Alexandria-MN – The Alexandria Blue Anchors, a member of the Northwoods League, have announced the signing of catcher Lukas Hermanson for the 2014 season.
Hermanson, the Georgetown, TX native is a freshman at Texas A&M Corpus Christi. The freshman got his first collegiate action in just the team’s second game and has played in three out of four games so far.

“I am excited to come play in the Northwoods League this summer,” says Hermanson. “From what I’ve heard from teammates is that I will learn a lot and become a much better baseball player while having a ton of fun.”

Lukas has received great praise from his college coach and the Anchors are very excited to get a player of his caliber.

“I jokingly refer to Lukas as our Buster Posey. He is the all American kid, born to be a catcher for the rest of his life,” said Corpus Christi coach Scott Malone. “Lukas is an outstanding defender and should see plenty of playing time as a true freshman.”

Hermanson was born on October 3rd and is the son of Brad and Donna. He is currently majoring in business.

The Blue Anchors will start the 2014 season on Tuesday May 27th at home versus the Mankato MoonDogs.
