Two Wildcats Joining the Woodchucks
Wausau, WIS – The Wisconsin Woodchucks announced today the addition of two new players to the 2014 roster. Catcher Zack Arnold and outfielder Ka’ai Tom from the University of Kentucky will join the Woodchucks this summer. Kentucky is off to a 5 – 2 start this season.
Tom, a 5’9, 180 sophomore outfield is off to a great start to the 2014 season. Tom has started 6 of there first 7 games and is hitting .389. He was one of the top junior college players last season at Fort Scott Community College where he batted .387 with 11 home runs and 57 RBI’s in just 53 games. Tom, will be the Woodchucks second Hawaiian born player to play for the team. Chevas Numata was the first playing the Woodchucks two season ago.
Arnold, a 6’2, 180 sophomore was drafted out of high school in the 27th Round by the New York Mets, he opted to continue baseball at the University of Kentucky instead of signing professional. Arnold is a defensive weapon behind the plate, playing behind upper classmen at Kentucky this season. Zach was a fist team all state in Kentucky and was selected 2012 preseason Under Armour All American as well as an ESPN Preseason All American.
