Illinois Hurler Cody Sedlock Joins Waterloo Bucks Pitching Staff
Sedlock joins Fighting Illini teammates Drasen Johnson, David Kerian and Ryan Nagle on Waterloo's Roster

Waterloo, Iowa – The Waterloo Bucks have announced that right-handed pitcher Cody Sedlock has signed to play with Waterloo for the 2014 season.  Sedlock, a freshman at the University of Illinois, is the 17th player to be named to the Bucks’ roster for the team’s 20th season.

This season for the Fighting Illini, Nagle owns a 1-0 record with a 4.05 ERA in 6.2 innings pitched.  The 6’4”, 200-pounder has appeared in two games for Illinois, recording five strikeouts.

“Cody is another individual that joins a long list of players that have played for us from the University of Illinois,” said Bucks field manager Travis Kiewiet.  “Coach [Eric] Snider is once again sending us a pitcher that will be able to make an immediate impact here in the Northwoods League.  Cody has garnered many accolades in high school and has gotten off to a good start coming out of the bullpen for Illinois so far this spring.  I'm excited that the pipeline continues with Illinois and to have Cody pitching for us here in Waterloo this summer.”

Originally from Sherrard, Illinois, Sedlock was ranked as the number nine player and the number five pitcher in the Class of 2013 in Illinois by Perfect Game USA.  The organization also ranked him among the top 400 players in the nation of that class, while Prep Baseball Report ranked Sedlock as the number 13 player and number four pitcher in the state.

Born June 16, 1995, Sedlock played at Alleman High School where he recorded an 8-1 record with 76 strikeouts and a 1.57 ERA during his senior season.  Cody is the son of Joe and Lori Sedlock.
