21st Round Draft Pick Joining the Woodchucks

Wausau, WIS – The Wisconsin Woodchucks announced today the addition of two new players to the 2014 roster.  Right handed pitcher Andy Ravel and left handed pitcher Jared Skolnicki from Kent State University. 

Ravel, a freshman pitcher from Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2013 MLB Draft, but choose to continue his career in college first. Ravel is off to a 1- 0 start for Kent State with 7K’s in the early college baseball season.  In High School he posted a career record of 23-6 at Wilson High School. He was All-American, All-State and All-Conference selection after an impressive senior year.

Skolnicki is also freshman pitcher at Kent State and is from Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. As a senior in High School he posted a 0.27 ERA with a 11-1 record and 113 strikeouts in 78 innings, Jared also batted .435 in his final season
.  He was named All-State, MSA Sports Player of the Year, and PBR District 7 Pitcher of the Year, Almanac Baseball MVP and made the conference All-Star game as a senior.
