(Rochester, Minn)– The Rochester Honkers Baseball Club announced today the signing of Bobby Skogsbergh, a right-handed pitcher from Boston College.
Skogsbergh is a 6-foot-3, 216-pound freshman pitcher from Hinsdale, Ill. Currently he is 2-0 with a 1.59 ERA. Skogsbergh has made 4 relief appearances on the season, pitching 5.2 innings, allowing only three hits and striking out four. Opponents are hitting .188 off of him.
A 2013 graduate of Hinsdale Central High School, Skogsbergh finished his senior season 4-1 with a 1.69 ERA, two saves and 37 strikeouts. The team captain was awarded West Suburban All-Conference and West Suburban All-Academic honors and given his school’s Red Devil Award, presented to the student-athlete who best represents their baseball program. He was a member of the Red Devil Leadership Club, Academic Honor Roll and Athletes Committed to Excellence.
Skogsbergh is enrolled in the Carroll School of Management as a business major at Boston College.
The Rochester Honkers 21st season begins on May 27th when the Waterloo Bucks prance into Mayo Field for a 7:05pm first pitch. The Honkers will play 72 games in 2014 (36 home, 36 away).
