Alexandria,Minn – The Alexandria Blue Anchors, a member of the Northwoods League, have announced the signing of left handed pitcher Chris Anderson.
Anderson, a junior at South Dakota State University, is off to a fast start for the Jackrabbits. In four appearances this season he has a 1.33 ERA with 20 strikeouts in 27 innings.
Before starting school at South Dakota State this season, Chris spent two years at Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove, IL. During his time there he became a first team All-American as a sophomore and his team finished 3rd in the country.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to play in one of the best summer leagues in the nation,” Anderson said. “I’m blessed for the opportunity.”
The 6’ 3” pitcher is originally from Aurora, IL and was born April 10th, 1993. His hobbies include fishing and playing video games. He is currently studying sports recreation management.
“Having a pitcher like Chris on the team is great for our organization,” said Blue Anchors GM Kendall Hughson. “He is proven winner and somebody that we can count on to come in and throw good innings for our ball club.”
The Blue Anchors will start the 2014 season on Tuesday May 27th at home versus the Mankato MoonDogs.
