Mequon, WI – The Lakeshore Chinooks have added two hard-hitting outfielders to the 2014 line-up. Brett Siddall (Canisius College) and Logan Leverett (Illinois State) will add depth to the outfield and will compete for at-bats in the highly competitive Northwoods League.
The versatile Brett Siddall, who will also add depth at 1B, is off to a hot start for the Golden Griffins of Canisius. After missing the first few weeks of the season, the sophomore is hitting .300 with 4 RBI and a .600 slugging percentage. As a freshman, Siddall hit .318, including seven doubles, two triples, one home run, and 29 RBI, with ten of those RBI coming in the eighth inning or later.
A native of Windsor, Ontario, the 6’0” slugger played for Canada at the International Baseball Federation 18U World Championship in Seoul, South Korea and earned All-Tournament with Team Canada at the Americas World Junior Tournament.
Logan Leverett is making the transition to Division I baseball with the Redbirds after playing for Southeastern Illinois Community College. At 6’2” and 230 lbs., Leverett has the strength and size to follow in the footsteps of two other Redbird hitters who made their marks with the Chinooks, Eric Aguilera (2012) and Mike Hollenbeck (2013). The burly outfielder from Harrisburg, IL hit .350 with five home runs and 25 RBI last season after hitting eight home runs as a freshman.
Siddall and Leverett will make their way to Mequon at the end of their college seasons, in which both programs will be in contention for trips to the 2014 NCAA Tournament
