Kalamazoo, Mich. – The submission portion of the Meijer #NameYourMascot contest held by the Kalamazoo Growlers to find the name of the team’s official mascot has ended. Over 1,000 names were submitted for consideration; the list has been narrowed to the true Final Four:
The voting portion of the contest will take place in a bracket style head-to-head matchup between the Final Four submissions. Barley will take on Gibson on one side, with Bubba battling Burp on the other. The winners of the Final Four matchups will advance to the Growlers #NameYourMascot Championship Round. People can vote for their favorite name at www.growlersbaseball.com. First round voting will take place from now thru March 27th. The championship round will take place from March 28th thru April 3rd.
An exclusive event will be held at the Radisson Plaza Hotel & Suites located on West Main in downtown Kalamazoo on Friday, April 4th from 6-8pm. The Growlers front office will be there to announce the winner and the mascot will be in attendance and officially introduced. It’s a free event open to the general public and attendees will receive a free ballpark food menu courtesy of the team. This will also be the first chance for fans to see the team’s custom inflatables and Mega Prize Wheel. Only kids that are signed up for the Growlers Cub Club will have free access to the Growlers bounce house, prize wheel, games, and an autograph session with the Growlers mascot.
Parents can sign their kids up for the Growlers Cub Club here. There are two Cub Club options, the FREE option includes a ticket to one Kids Extravaganza Sunday game, while the VIP option includes tickets to all six Sunday games along with other perks for only $15.
The individual that wins the Final Four voting will be chosen from everyone who officially entered a name during the submission period. That person will receive these exclusive benefits for the year:
1. Mascot lawn mowing services for a day
2. Mascot driveway snow removal appearance
3. Mascot Valentine’s Day Flower delivery to your sweetheart
4. Mascot birthday party appearance
5. $100 Meijer shopping spree with the new Mascot
