Alexandria, Minn – The Alexandria Blue Anchors, a member of the Northwoods League, have announced the signing of right handed pitcher Michael DeCarlo.

DeCarlo, comes to the Blue Anchors from Herkimer County Community College who is currently ranked 8th in the nation. The sophomore has had a good spring throwing 11 innings, with 11 strikeouts, and a .82 ERA. He has committed to pitch for the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff next year.

Last summer he pitched for the Mohawk Valley DiamondDogs in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League. He played in 9 games posting a 4.05 ERA in 40 innings while striking out 28.

“I am honored to be representing the Blue Anchors this summer in the Northwoods League,” said DeCarlo. “I am ready to help work towards bringing a Northwoods League championship to Alexandria.”

Born May 12th, 1994, Michael is originally from Wynantskill, NY and his favorite hobby is fishing. When Michael was younger he traveled around the world due to his dad’s military involvement and lived in Okinawa, Japan.

“As our pitching staff continues to grow we keep adding quality arms,” said GM Kendall Hughson. “Michael will give us a pitcher that will go out and battle every time he takes the mound.”

The Blue Anchors will start the 2014 season on Tuesday May 27th at home versus the Mankato MoonDogs.
