Honkers Sign Right-Hander Greer from Western NV CC

(Rochester, Minn.)The Rochester Honkers Baseball Club announced today the signing of right-handed pitcher Spencer Greer from Western Nevada Community College in Carson City, Nev.

Greer is a 6-foot-6, 220-pound sophomore from Woodinville, Wash.  He is currently 6-3 with a 1.88 ERA.  Greer has made 15 appearances, five of them starts, collecting 47 strikeouts in 48.0 innings and earning two saves.  Opponents are only hitting .239 against him.

Greer just earned his sixth win of the season on Friday, April 11th, pitching 4.1 innings of scoreless relief in the 6-4 victory over Colorado Northwestern.  Greer fanned four batters and scattered four hits in his outing.

The Western Nevada Wildcats are back in action on April 25-26 when Southern Nevada comes to town for back-to-back double headers.

The Rochester Honkers 21st season begins on May 27th when the Waterloo Bucks prance into Mayo Field for a 7:05pm first pitch.  The Honkers will play 72 games in 2014 (36 home, 36 away).  Season Tickets, Bonus Books, Suites and Patios are now available.
