Kevin Walsh Joins the Anchors

Alexandria,Minn – The Alexandria Blue Anchors, a member of the Northwoods League, have announced the signing of right handed pitcher Kevin Walsh.

Walsh, a junior at the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff has had a great spring appearing in 12 innings. In those innings of work he has struck out 8 while posting a .75 ERA. Before joining the Golden Lions he spent time at Gloucester County College in Sewell, NJ, where he was fortunate enough to be a part of a team that won the 2013 NJCAA Division III National Title.

"I am excited, humbled, and honored to be a part of not only the Blue Anchors but a part of the Northwoods League. I'm looking forward to going to work to represent myself and this league in the best way possible."

Originally from Magnolia, NJ, the 6’ 4” pitcher is a health and wellness major at Pine Bluff. In his free time he enjoys playing sports, and hanging out with his best friend Michael Kidd Gilchirst who was selected 2nd overall in the NBA draft by the Charlotte Bobcats.

“Kevin brings a winning mentality with him to Alexandria,” said GM Kendall Hughson. “I look for him to come in late in a game and shut the door on opposing hitters.”

The Blue Anchors will start the 2014 season on Tuesday May 27th at home versus the Mankato MoonDogs.
